TAB Atlanta East is a business coaching and consultancy firm that provides advisory and business coaching services in Atlanta, to small businesses.

At any given time Buddy is providing business coaching and consultancy to between 30-40 local Atlanta area business owners, supporting them as they lead their organizations to a higher level of performance and success, and to help them re-engage and achieve their personal vision to live the life they desire for themselves and their families.

While each owner’s goals and motivations are as different and unique as their businesses are, experiences over the past 6 years of Buddy’s TAB members include realizing record levels of growth, making better decisions and solving problems faster, successfully selling their business, building solid leadership teams, expanding markets both nationally and internationally, creating sales processes and business development methodologies, creating their succession and exit plans, implementing financial disciplines for stronger profit performance, tax mitigation and personal wealth improvement. Buddy is an East Atlanta business coach who’s focused on results.

For over 25 years, Buddy has worked in and around the small business community with great success and impact, offering business advisory services in Atlanta. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1981 with a degree in Marketing, Buddy began his career as the assistant manager for a local steak house restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee. By 1984, annual sales had surpassed $2 million, and Buddy had progressed to Manager, responsible for all operational aspects of the business.. In 1984, Buddy joined the newly formed BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Corporation as a yellow pages sales representative in the South Georgia territory. In 1986 he was brought into the Marketing organization and helped build the competitive strategy for the newly competitive directory publishing business.

Throughout the late 1980’s and 1990’s Buddy pioneered and delivered programs designed to help small businesses sell, market and manage their businesses more effectively. The programs included practical sales training for telephone and outside sales representatives, how to build a winning sales team, bringing a customer service culture into the small business, basics of forecasting and budgeting, and strategic and competitive planning.

After completing his Masters of Business Degree in 1997 from Georgia State University’s Executive MBA program, Buddy joined IBM’s Information Services group as a Global Solutions Executive. He was fortunate to work internationally in the emerging mobile information industry with such giants as Nokia, Ericsson and Lucent Technologies. Working on a global team with partners in Australia, Finland, Great Britain and customers in Scandinavia, Germany, France, Iceland and the Philippines gave him perspective on the potential impact of mobile and wireless technology on businesses both large and small.

In late 1999, Buddy was recruited back to BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Corporation as Director of Marketing for the almost $2 billion print and online yellow pages business. Buddy drove investment strategy for the print yellow pages business which included new product development, a greater focus on competitive strategy and planning, innovative solutions for the growing Spanish language market and expansion into new markets with an integrated print/electronic product portfolio. By 2007, the leadership team of which Buddy was a part had led BellSouth had led the industry for 4 consecutive years with consistent growth in an industry that was in decline. At the purchase of BellSouth by AT&T, Buddy was promoted to Executive of Marketing, and he served in that position until his retirement in 2008.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Buddy has also owned and run a small real estate investment and property management business for the last 10 years. He is married with two children and lives in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta.

Kevin McGee

KEVIN R. MCGEE

Kevin McGee was a serial entrepreneur long before the term became trendy. With a wide range of experience ranging from light manufacturing to multi-unit franchising, he started his first major venture at 23 years old. He has more than 25 years of entrepreneurial and business development experience, giving him unique insight and wisdom into this area of entrepreneurship, which he is dedicated to passing on through business coaching and consultancy.

He believes that entrepreneurship is the only way for a person to truly be in control of his or her destiny. Kevin’s passion is to help startup and early-stage companies become self-sustaining enterprises. 

Kevin is an East Atlanta business coach who has founded businesses in the hospitality, retail, and non-profit sectors. Over the past 20 years Kevin has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs start, grow, and, when necessary, exit their businesses.
 
EDUCATION AND FOUNDATION

Kevin McGee is a 1993 graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in banking and finance with a minor in Spanish. Upon his graduation, Kevin’s finance background led him to partner with a regional not-for-profit that facilitated community economic development throughout the southeast. Kevin began working with small entrepreneurial communities to create community development credit unions with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives.
 
RECENT POSITIONS

Kevin was Vice President for Business Development and Business Advisory Services for Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE). ACE is a nonprofit organization that facilitates to the growth of entrepreneurship by providing access to financing and education. ACE provides loans to small businesses that lack access to traditional forms of credit. Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs works in partnership with banks to meet credit gaps. The personalized underwriting, flexible terms and ongoing assistance give businesses the support and capital they need to grow and thrive. Beyond the financial assistance, Kevin specializes in providing outcome-oriented strategic planning services to entrepreneurs through his business consultancy in Atlanta. This consulting and business advisory services in Atlanta allows small businesses to receive the level of consulting that some leading medium-sized corporations can access.

Kevin is also involved in an ongoing research project to determine ways that small businesses can collaborate to create efficiencies and economies of scale to improve their chances of success.

A firm believer in community service, Kevin serves as president of the Morehouse College Alumni Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Morehouse and the Morehouse School of Medicine. Kevin is active in a number of organizations, including United Way of Metro Atlanta, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, Communities in Schools of Georgia and DeKalb County School Mentoring. Kevin believes that a strong family is a crucial component of success. He is married to Dionne McGee, an accomplished attorney, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Amaya. His family is a source of continuous support, inspiration and motivation.
